I just got back from the Great Northern Craft Fair in Manchester and I was very impressed by the variety and quality of the work on display.
Here are a few picture I took:
There was a lot more there, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, woodwork etc and all of high quality usually with a high price tag to match, which is unfortunate but understandable. We stayed at the fair for around an hour, the previous day we went to a gaming expo and were there for at least 5 hours and had more fun. And that’s my criticism of the craft fair, it wasn’t a fun event. At vintage fairs they often have a band or singer, vintage hair styles, and food. At the Great Northern Craft Fair the atmosphere felt precious, everything on display was delicate and fragile and I felt slightly afraid to touch stuff in case I broke it. I am like a drunk moose sometimes…
