How To Cook Camembert

So, boyfriend has cruelly suggested that I cook more!  Outrageous, apparently never is not enough. And so I turned to the camembert in the fridge (the third of the festive season) for answers.  Well, for tea.

Camembert is actually very easy to cook. You need to heat the oven to 200C/390F.  If your camembert comes in a jazzy ceramic pot then you can just place this straight in the oven on a baking tray.   If it’s in a more flimsy ‘wooden’ container then expect it to fall apart a bit and cheese to leak out.  So put some baking paper down on your tray first.  I did that anyway just to be on the safe side.

Then remove any plastic cover on the cheese, and slice across the cheese a few times.  Then drizzle (pour) some balsamic vinegar over the top, allowing it to soak into the cheese.  Then place in the over for about 20-30 until it’s all melty and awesome.

I made this with some boiled potatoes, some fried courgette and onion.  Sister served it up with raw veg and crusty bread which is probably more traditional.
